Founded in 1985 with three associates, WellCare Health Plans, Inc. grew to more than 800 associates and 467,000 members in Florida, New York and Connecticut by 2002. In 2004, the Company acquired Harmony to enter the Midwest and became publicly traded. By 2006, WellCare served 2.2 million members as it became a national prescription drug plan (PDP) provider and the largest Medicaid plan in Georgia.

As of June 30, 2009, WellCare has grown to be the eighth-largest publicly traded health care plan in the country with 3,800 associates and nearly 2.4 million members nationwide.
 

WellCare provides managed care services targeted exclusively to government-sponsored health care programs, focused on Medicaid and Medicare, including prescription drug plans and health plans for families, the aged, blind and disabled.

  • Appointment Verification Line (AVL) for appointment consent and scope of appointment.
  • TeleApp service for telephonic enrollments.
Dedicated Support:
Producers who sell for WellCare will also be provided with direct access to dedicated account managers from WellCare’s National Distribution Team. These account managers are proficient on WellCare’s products, processes and compliance regulations.  

Additionally, a specialized Producer Services Team is available to assist producers on service issues related to beneficiary enrollment, access to provider care, billing and much more.
